Album: Valparaiso
In early October I was working in Santiago, Chile with a Brazilian named Bruno. We finished work late on Saturday night and hopped on a bus to the coast. When we finally got to our hostel (after having our reservation given away at the first place we went to) we met up with a group of people who were going out for the night, and proceeded to drink Piscolas until 7am. In the mayhem I forgot to charge my battery, but one of the girls we met was nice enough to email me all of hers. Here they are in all their 640x480 glory.

Album: Frankfurt, Germany
On my way to Johannesburg I had a spare day in Frankfurt, and did my best to see as much of the city as I could. I met a fellow english speaker on the train into town and shared a few glasses of apple wine and pints of beer with him in various places around the city.

Album: Johannesburg, South Africa
While slaving away in South Africa I was able to take a few days off here and there, and I primarily spent them at game reserves and saw most of the "Big Five".

Album: South America
Dayna and I went on an extended vacation to South America for 6 weeks from April 24 to June 1 2005. We ate new amazing foods, saw gorgeous sites, met really nice people, tanned on beautiful beaches, and got along great! Now that I've run out of adjectives, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves..

Album: Mystery Lake
Speedo, Dayna and I hiked up to Mystery Lake on Mount Seymour Sunday afternoon. It's only a 45 minute hike, but it's a perfect warmup for a swim in the lake. Hopefully we'll be doing some more hikes in the near future.

Album: Arizona with Grandma!
I was in Tucson for work, and I managed to sneak away for a weekend with my Grandma Z and my Great Aunt Mary. They never rest! Saturday we went to a bbq, and then they took me to Tortilla Flats, which is near the Roosevelt dam. We took a hike in the desert, some of the Saguaro cacti are huge. Once we got back we played cards with a group of their friends for a few hours. The next day we got up early and went golfing, then had a turkey dinner (with birthday cake!) After dinner we played shuffleboard for a few hours. Finally we had a quick hot tub before bed. It was an action packed weekend, and I have no idea where the seniors get all their energy from. It was great to see both of them, and meet a lot of their friends. Makes me want to retire.

Album: Okanagan Excursion
Dayna and I created a long weekend for ourselves and went to Kelowna. We toured a number of wineries in Kelowna, Penticton, and Naramata. As a result we spent half the time intoxicated, wandering around the countryside. We mountain biked the Kettle Valley, and rode the historic steam train. We stayed with my friend Leif for the first night, and then in a small B&B with a gorgeous view of Lake Okanagan for two nights. It was a wonderful getaway, and altho we didn't get a lot of pictures, we had a great time together.

Album: Hayak White Water Rafting!
Dayna took me white water rafting for my 24th birthday present. Was an AMAZING day for rafting. Super hot, high (very cold) water, and we sat in the front of the raft the entire time. We had a fabulous time together and it was a great birthday.

Album: Mexico 2004
My parents gave Dayna and I a trip to Mexico for Xmas. We flew to Puerto Vallarta, and stayed in Sayulita (camping on the beach) for 4 nights, rented a room in Boca de Tomatlan for 2 nights, went to Yelapa for a day, and then finally stayed in a one star hotel (that was really nice) for the last night. Lots of adventures, surfing, horseback riding, etc. Was really good to see my parents after a month or so of not talking to them.

Album: White Water Rafting!
chad (seattle), tiffany, me, and shay (tdot) were voluntarily thrown down an raging river, with only a thin piece of rubber filled with air between us and sure death. Flying down the river on ice cold glacier runoff past large boulders, with a red bearded viking yelling orders and surrey girl jokes the whole way down. The moral of the story: when rafting, take the front two seats, especially if you have to steal them from americans.

Album: Viva Las Vegas
To call this a 3 day trip would paint an inaccurate picture. We spent 72
hours in the small rural fishing village that some call Las Vegas. Day and night lost all meaning. Time was an incomprehensible fantasy, a series of bizzare events strung together by tripple gin martinis, slurred meaningless phrases, and a steady flow of 100 dollar bills. We did vegas right or is it a matter of Vegas did Us? To an outsider it would appear as if at no point during the vacation were we in control. The city was in control of us. What is the meaning of this trip?
